Want to know what all the fuss is about as I see queues of females at the Mac store at Westfield. Can’t even get to see a consultant as I want to find out for myself, and finally get an appointment with a two hour wait.
I turn up after copious cups of coffee, and am greeted by a warm smile and a reassuring voice telling me to take a seat, and urging me to give her some indication of shades, colours and occasions currently in my thought tank.
She nudges me out of my comfort zone with foundation a shade lighter and a lipstick several shades darker – a vibrant retro red reminiscent of movie stars of bygone eras ala Marilyn Monroe or even on the curvaceous lips of Merle Oberon.
I am transformed, and buy both along with some daring smoky eyes in their Pro Longwear Paint Pot and one of their new Limited Edition Beauty Kits.
I leave the store feeling nurtured and reinvented, and a Mac convert – I will go back, and next time book ahead with plenty of time to spare.
