As I worked through my wardrobe after purchasing a copy of The Art of Tidying as reviewed recently on Glotime.tv, https://www.glotime.tv/hoarder-learn-art-tidying/
I pulled out all my jeans in black and blue, white and red and discovered that I had ten pairs of blue jeans, mostly stretchy and jeggings in sizes ranging from a generous 12 to a skinny 16.
So I had a rethink, and spoke to each pair asking the million dollar questions, ‘do I feel cool in these jeans?, do I love these jeans?, do you make me feel sexy and attractive, and the majority screamed back a resounding ‘NO’.
So I made a decision, and it felt as huge as the triggering of Brexit or end of a long relationship, and threw the majority of the offending items out.
As with any major divorce, it leaves you feeling bereft and slightly heady in this constant love fest of fashion. But fear not, you will soon feel enlightened as it provides freedom for new climbs.
This is when I rekindled my relationship with an old flame, the Levi 501, the coolest and sexiest in jean culture. I was back in love with the rebellious ‘bad boy’ of hard rock, who transcended vogue and survived the Hollywood Dream culture, two world wars and is as vibrant as ever in the fast lane of fashion.
I was even more excited when I discovered that my new curve, the 501 was actually starring in a movie spanning several decades and indeed centuries, from Cowboys to California – and being donned by mega stars in Hollywood. A kind of seductive ‘rags to riches’ story – with a fairy tale ‘ever after’ theme, but with hints of Scorsese as opposed to Beauty and the Beast.
As with any icon, I have to share the 501 with a multitude, but do so willingly – even though it adorns the bodies of the rich and famous as well as those on the street, I have committed to stay faithful to my new partner in crime, the unrivalled Levi 501. As ever the hip hugging legend, revealing a rip or patch to customise the trend.

I recently heard on the radio a so called coffee expert and Barista exclaiming that the aroma of coffee is always so good that the taste never fails to disappoint.
As my friends will tell you I always rise to a challenge, and have been investigating this notion ever since, and think I have proved her wrong!
A long time buddy of mine bought me a Tassimo coffee maker for my birthday at the end of last year, which has totally revolutionised my life in that not only does it cut out the painful cleaning of my old coffee machine, but it makes incredible coffee too. Now you may think that this is an advertisement for the Tassimo, but I assure you it is not, I am just sharing my knowledge and excitement at this recent discovery!
The coffee and creamer comes in separate capsules and you simply slot them into the top of the machine and away you go. The milk or creamer is delivered piping hot and steaming and frothy, just the way good coffee should be. Plus the taste really does not disappoint as with so many other makes of coffee, even in established coffee shops.
I am also going to invest in one for the office, as it will cut down on the crazy prices that have evolved since the birth of trendy coffee cafes such as Starbucks and Costa. Don’t get me wrong, I will still enjoy the occasional cup of coffee at the weekend when meeting up with girl friends in our local chic café, but for the everyday, will continue to enjoy the various types of coffee available for a Tassimo coffee machine.
So far I have tried COSTA cappuccino, COSTA macchiato, breakfast coffee and COSTA latte, and all of them are really good in their own way. Of course nothing beats going into a COSTA coffee shop with friends but now I can enjoy the great taste at home as well.

After 18 long months I am almost at my ideal weight, following a regime of exercise and healthy eating.
I followed a friend’s advice to sign up to Slimming World www.slimmingworld.co.uk, and was then motivated by a Glotime fitness coach and some of their low fat recipes on Mama’s Kitchen, https://www.glotime.tv/category/mamas-kitchen/ and the rest is history.
At the start of my journey my partner and I agreed to embark on this regime together, which helped me to stay focused. I vowed to resist buying any additions to my wardrobe until I reached my goal – and it was hard as I missed endless months of retail therapy. It is an occupation I absolutely adore – although it has become a bit of a joke in my family, because as much as I love it, my partner loathes shopping with a passion! But he came up with the ideal solution, an idea I grabbed with both hands.
I had heard about ‘Personal Stylists’ from a couple of my girlfriends who always enjoy buying clothes – empty nesters who had the time and money for a bit of self indulgence.
So for me, I had considered this to be a rather expensive and un-necessary way of shopping. But when my partner offered me a big birthday present of an opportunity of a spa day in London followed by an overnight in a hotel and a ‘Personal Stylist’ experience in Debenhams the next day – who was I to turn it down.
My partner had got the idea from a colleague at work who has sight problems. She had utilised the ‘Personal Stylist’ to buy an outfit for her daughter’s Wedding, as they are fully trained to help with all disabilities and they have also been trained with help from the RNIB. But for me it was recommendation enough to find out for myself.
As we met with the ‘Personal Stylist’ called Emily she greeted us with a smile and directed us to a private suite, where magazines and free drinks were on offer.
We discussed styles and colours, and Emily sourced a rail of beautiful clothes and shoes, which I tried on. It was really uplifting as some of the selections were designs I had not even considered. But the majority of them worked, and I felt like I had my very own Gok Wan.
The entire experience lasted for well over an hour, and I left for home feeling elated, and with a completely new wardrobe. My partner was pretty chilled out too, which was a first considering he always hated shopping!
I am now a serious ‘Personal Shopper’ convert, an experience that I would now completely recommend.
