The series tells the story of Jack Castello played by David Corenswet, a World War II veteran who moves to Hollywood in the 40s the hopes of becoming a star of the silver screen.
Jack is married and wants to provide for his pregnant wife, but soon finds the only way he can is by working in a down town gas station where pumping gas isn’t his only option.
Darren Criss as Raymond Ainsley is a half Filipino aspiring film director determined to break boundaries in Hollywood against all the prejudice that faces him and his black actress girlfriend Laura Harrier who plays Camille Washington.
Against a backdrop of racism, chauvinism, homophobia and outrageous sexual harassment, the reality is blurred as Rock Hudson and Tallulah Bankhead appear as real life characters within the riveting storyline.
It is not by chance that the ultimate project that brings the cast together is a movie where the leading actress throws herself off the Hollywood sign as she had staked her life on becoming a movie star.
As well as being hugely entertaining, Hollywood exposes and examines years of sad ass dynamics, but portrays how the world of movies and entertainment could have been ‘if only’ the World had been in a different place.

Junior Tomlin’s visionary capabilities led to a long-running career as a flyer artist. His fantastical projections of the future and often surreal imagery earned him the title ‘The Salvador Dali of Rave’. Tomlin’s iconic work was highly sought after, with ravers collecting his remarkable work and promoters queuing up to commission him to produce imagery for their flyers.
Junior’s imagination conjured up alternate worlds, references to outer space and gave us a peek into the endless possibilities presented by an unknown future. It was the perfect representation of the brave new world being cultivated by rave promoters and the community that sprung up around the culture.
The Valentines Ball
Junior worked with a range of seminal rave promoters from 1989 onwards including Telepathy, Dreamscape, Slammin’ Vinyl, One Nation, Dream Odyssey and Ravealation. 30 years since he designed his first flyer, Junior Tomlin: Flyer & Cover Art documents his work across 180 pages, with commentary and draft sketches provided by Junior himself.

Divided into two distinct sections – Record Covers and Flyers – the book will also feature an in-depth interview with Junior and a foreword by Chelsea Louise Berlin (artist, flyer collector and author of Rave Art) plus words from members of the public, former clients and, of course, the rave community.

In a time where division and conflict seems to be more prevalent than ever, the book allows us to escape into Junior’s fantasy worlds and travel back in time to an era when social barriers were being broken down.

If you are an animal lover, as most of us are, an utterly compelling and heartfelt documentary ‘Flying Fur’ tells the story of a courageous and dedicated guy who has set up a rescue mission in The States, entirely self-funded, to rescue dogs and cats who are fated to be ‘put down’ due to an injury or homelessness.

Paul is the founder, pilot, scheduler, social media, accounting, web design, and fur parent. Paul is a U.S. Army veteran, and currently a network engineer by day, specializing in Cisco collaboration technologies, including VOIP, route/switch, and security. In his spare time he enjoys cooking and classic autos.
TESSA THE DOG
Tessa is Paul’s rescue pup, and the inspiration for the founding of the organization. Her day job includes sleeping, eating, barking at random delivery people, and general doggy shenanigans. She enjoys playing, long walks on the trail, chewing on stuff, and licking people.
This compelling and beautifully shot film tracks Paul on one of his missions, as he flies off in his single engine plane across mid America, in often treacherous weather conditions, to deliver his animal Pawsengers to either their new home or an animal hospital designated to take them in.
When this film was aired in the UK there was not a dry eye in the house and Paul himself was in attendance and the questions ranged from a proposal marriage (to Paul!) and how we could get involved in this wonderful organisation.
Paul came across as a humble self-motivated man, whose love and passion for the furry kind had compelled him to set up this unique rescue mission.
It portrayed beauty and kindness in this dark age of violence and devastation, and gives us a glimpse of hope in humankind and a reminder that we share the glorious planet with other living beings, who sometimes need our help and whose love is unconditional as they give back in so many ways.
I hope this may inspire you to find a way of becoming involved in one of your local dog or cat rescue centres, or even set up your own animal National Rescue campaign.
