Skyler Jett is a Grammy award winning vocalist has just recently moved from America to set up home in the UK
Skyler is both talented and charismatic and has decades of fascinating stories about his own experiences in the music business and other superstars he has worked with over the years.
Skyler is now currently working on a new single called Heal The World to support his vision of Music transforming the lives of many across the Globe. He rightly feels that music is a healing force that should be present in everyone’s lives, especially those suffering from mental illness or in areas of deprivation such as Africa and the third World. It is Skyler who will lead this inspirational project and is now putting in place the foundations for its launch.
Skyler has toured with The Commodores replacing Lionel Ritchie as Lead Vocalist for their live shows in 31 different countries, as well as touring with Sly Stone.
He sang with Celine Dion on the title track from Titanic on the album version which earned him the Grammy award with the song My Heart Will Go On. as well as working with Whitney Houston on the song I’m Every Woman for the block buster hit movie The Body Guard which was movie of the year in (1992).
You can hear Skyler’s voice on the James Bond 007 Licence To Kill, Big Bully with Rick Moranis and Tom Arnold, and Ghostdad. The list of stars are endless Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Sting, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and Kenny G.
Skyler’s love of music stems from his childhood as his Mum, Aunt and GrandMa were Gospel singers in the Baptist Churches of Oakland, so he grew up singing from the age of 7 as well as meeting hosts of great stars as a child. His aunt, Elsie Davis, was the first black woman to hire entertainment for San Francisco’s Presidio Army base and she performed with such greats as Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra.
In his teens Skyler benefitted from the mentorship of two uncles, Capus Hope, who managed Jazz Band, Donald Byrd & The Blackbirds and Arif Khaitib who promoted Ike & Tina Turner.
Skyler’s new single This Is A Calling is one of those tracks that will get you hooked on the talent of the man, and transport you to another place, as all good artists should.
It was also just announced by Artists United that Skyler Jett, acclaimed musician and founder of Music for Global Change, has joined their Advisory Board. In addition, Artists United and Music for Global Change have become partners to cross-promote and support each other’s missions.

Every Easter I swear that I will not over indulge on Easter Eggs and Chocolate, but all resolutions go by the wayside as I devour chocolate bite by bite. If you are going to indulge, do it in style with our scrumptious chocolate cake. You will feel you have died and gone to Heaven. Make it worth your while because Easter starts here:
Ingredients
For the cake
225g plain flour
350g caster sugar
85g cocoa powder
1½ tsp baking powder
1½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 whole eggs
250ml milk
125ml Bertolli Olive Oil (This will keep the cake moist and give a wonderful flavour)
2 tsp vanilla extract
250ml hot water
For the chocolate icing
200g plain chocolate
200ml double cream
Method
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and line two 8in sandwich tins.
Place all of the cake ingredients, except the boiling water, into a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon, or electric whisk, beat the mixture until smooth and well combined.
Add the boiling water to the mixture, a little at a time, until smooth. (The cake mixture will be very wet.)
Divide the cake mixture between the sandwich tins and bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes, or until the top is firm to the touch and a knife inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the cakes from the oven and allow to cool completely, still in their tins, before icing.
For the chocolate icing, heat the chocolate and cream in a saucepan over a low heat until the chocolate melts. Remove the pan from the heat and whisk the mixture until smooth, glossy and thickened. Set aside to cool for 1-2 hours, or until thick enough to spread over the cake.
Run a round-bladed knife around the inside of the cake tins to loosen the cakes. Carefully remove the cakes from the tins.
Spread a little chocolate icing over the top of one of the chocolate cakes, then carefully top with the other cake half
Place the cake to a serving plate and ice the cake all over with the chocolate icing, using a spatula.
Serve with some Double Cream for an extra special treat
How many times do we hear of women hanging their lives on men who cheat on them or inflict abuse them physically or mentally. Such is the lot of women, or so we are led to believe in novels, movies and some of the more tacky tabloids.
But come on ladies, let’s stop being victims and take look at the ‘bad girls’ throughout history who have ensnarled men by our wily means, only to entrap and then devour them. Similar in style to the black widow spider who entices the male into the web, has her wicked way with him and then mercilessly kills and kicks him out.
Men too are addicted to bad behaviour, and the old adage ‘treat em mean keep em keen’ also applies to us.
A recent television series The Affair depicted a seemingly helpless female working as a waitress in a café, played by the charismatic Ruth Wilson, who cleverly entices a formerly happy married man away from his wife and three kids to embark on a liaison dangereuse which ultimately destroys all of their lives.
The manipulative Anne Baxter in the old movie All About Eve with Bette Davies, when she sets out to usurp her best friend’s career and relationship with her divisive plans to destroy her marriage and entice her husband into her bed.
Cleopatra was a great example of female power and entrapment, managing to seduce and win the most powerful man on the Planet at that time, Mark Anthony. Following Caesar’s assassination, Mark Antony had reached the heights of power. But he completely neglected his empire for a life of decadent seduction with his mistress, Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt. We have seen it within our own Royal family within the last Century, with the alluring Wallis Simpson, who completely captivated the heart of the late King Edward VI, causing him to abdicate the thrown as he couldn’t live without her. Rumour has it that this was the last thing on her agenda, but had to play it out after his legendary speech addressing a nation was broadcast to the World.
I have it in my own circle of friends, where one lady constantly has the upper hand, and endlessly taunts her tolerant husband who willingly goes along with all of her demands, and I sometimes cringe as she cracks the whip on her devoted partner. But he is besotted and even appears to enjoy it!
Sometimes we have to cut the victim talk and examine our own power to attract and ultimately destroy the opposite sex – it is not all down to men and certainly not all one sided. I rest my case.
