The holiday season is well and truly here, and if you haven’t quite achieved your beach babe aspirations, do not despair. There are some flattering swimsuits for you on offer this season, and now is the time to pick up a bargain in the mid season sales.
The website www.swimsuitsforall.com have a fantastic array of swimming costumes for the 14 plus figure, and let’s face it why not show off those curves if you have them. Gone are the days when we have to cover them up and feel we have to compete with the less endowed.
If you log onto www.figleaves.com/swimwear there are also some gorgeous swim suits with tummy control in vibrant colours to make you look and feel fabulous. There are also some sophisticated black ‘muscle’ suits which are glamorous and very sexy. You could even throw over a skirt or sarong which would look amazing around the pool.
Marks and Spencer are true to form and let’s face it – have got the history to prove their expertise in underwear and swimwear. We particularly love their red swimsuit which has secret panels to pHull you in.
But if that is too steep for your pocket, then grab a lovely piece at Sainsburys with their Tu range or George at Tesco, as these come in at around £16, and there are bargains galore at this time of the year.
So whatever your shape, flaunt it and make sure that you get the most alluring for your figure. You have nothing to hide, and we are lucky that the bikini is well and truly a thing of the past, and living at the bottom of most ladies’ wardrobes.
So if you are about to brave the great outdoor arena, take a long look at yourself in the mirror, affirm your beauty without and within and get yourself out there. After all we are all goddesses and now is the time to prove it.

The terminology BROW BEATEN holds strong the significance of the Eyebrow. In recent years our attention has been redirected into this important feature of the face and it is important to investigate what works for you.
The Eye Brow can determine a mood or emotion and can even give a more youthful look if carefully repositioned or reconstructed.
Threading is now taking over from tweezers, and you can source an inexpensive expert in most areas, who will redefine the brow area with just a bit of discomfort and a great deal of long lasting satisfaction. It will last around six weeks.
I have recently discovered a couple of unattractive grey hairs sprouting up around the brow area, and shock horror at my tender age, in panic I attacked them with tweezers to find that I took out some other good healthy dark ones which immediately threw the brow out of shape with a bald patch. A hard lesson learnt, and I am now really disciplined and make sure it is done professionally every time.
Waxing is another option and equally as effective but perhaps slightly less long lasting, and a tad more painful. But I have experimented with both options, depending on availability and accessibility to an appropriate Salon, and threading is the one I would recommend.
A recent ‘find’ is the Wonderbrow which is an amazing answer to a Maiden’s Prayer, and should be investigated. It very speedily creates a think perfect brow and comes highly recommended by fashion experts and celebrities. It is also reasonably priced around twenty quid, and lasts for quite a while too.
Talking of Celebs and Icons, a recent campaign eliminated the image of the brow from photographs of certain stars, and they were as a result unrecognisable. You wouldn’t think that it would make such a difference to the face, but it demonstrates the importance of the Eye Brow.
When you think about it, circus clowns and mime artists practically speak with their brow, and communicate moods without sound as in Silent Movies back in the day. If you have seen a rerun of a one, you will remember those big heavy brows!
It is known that predators in the jungle can read danger on the brow of certain species of animals by the position of their brow, which is why this area of the face is so important to keep in good shape.
If you are taking this seriously and want to make a drastic change you can even invest in a brow tattoo which will alter your look completely. But do not act in haste, as this takes careful planning, and you must not be brow beaten into hasty action.
Hope I have got you thinking, such is the power of the Brow.

As the first hints of Spring finally tease through the clouds, we start thinking preparing for warmer climes at home or abroad.
Pulling out my favourite bikini last night was a bit of an eye opener for me as I decided that either the swimsuit had to go or the tummy. I decided on the latter, as with a few tone up exercises and less carbs, I could make a difference within a very short time indeed.
I have never been a Beach Babe even at my most fittest, but I can don a curvaceous Marilyn Monroe figure – especially if wearing a rather generous two piece bathing suit (fifties style). Did you know she was actually a size 16!
So I did a plan, and have given myself until the 1st June, just under two months to achieve my goal.

Here are some of my tips to get started.
Tummy exercises are easy, and as my old fitness instructor told me, concentrate on your tummy even whilst at your desk – because where energy goes, energy flows! This is so true, and you just have to get into the habit of pulling in your stomach and strengthening your torso at every opportunity.
As with every woman of a certain age, bat wings are not a good look and so these exercises are amazing for tightening up the tops of the arms. Stretch both arms out sideways, then gently tilt them backwards feeling the tightening in the upper arm. Do these fifty times three times a day and you will see the difference within a week.
Swimming is great exercise for the entire body and if you can get in two to three 20 minute stretches in the pool you will tone up and strengthen the muscles. Water Aerobics are also effective and fun, and a good alternative to the Gym.
Diet adaptation is also necessary after the Winter months of late night hot chocolate and extra calories. I have always taken the low fat route rather than a low calorie diet, as the weight loss is more expedient and it is easier to sustain.
Join a Slimming World if you are serious about dropping pounds or just opt for low fat products in the Supermarket.
A typical day for me would be:
Breakfast
A poached or boiled egg
One slice of wholemeal toast
Lighter spread
Tea or coffee with skimmed milk
One banana
Lunch
Baked potato
Baked Beans
Salad
Zero fat yoghurt
Dinner
One piece of fresh salmon
Mixed fresh vegetables
Boiled potatoes
Fresh fruit salad
Check out other low fat options – there are many now on offer, even with ready meals if you are on the go.
